Tuesday, November 17, 2009
Tuesday, November 17, 2009 DIY weddings are no easy undertaking. They require lots of time, creativity, skills, great planning and patience. If you possess ALL of the above - DIY projects might be great for your wedding. Be careful - don't overdo it - you do want to enjoy your day. But, at the same time, they add a bit of personalization to your day and sometimes, savings to your pocket. Over the last year several Nashville brides have held DIY weddings or started planning for their DIY day. Nashville Newlyweds: 1) Budget Savvy Bride is the most famous Nashville DIY bride. Her wedding has been featured everywhere. Jessica did a fantastic job and had wonderful details. I featured her DIY wedding earlier this year so check it out. And, she has a super helpful budget savvy bridal blog in which she shares tips and other DIY weddings.

2) Kayla and Brock were married this Oct here in Tennessee. Kayla was a DIY bride whose photographer, Lotus Blossom, had this to say about Kayla's wedding: The vast majority of it was done by the bride herself!! Everything from the flowers, to her make-up, to even her dress (a vintage gown which she designed the alterations for) was all done by Kayla.

You can get inspired by more of Kayla's wedding details on the Lotus Blossom blog.
Nashville brides-to-be: A couple of Nashville brides are in the planning stages and are blogging to share their DIY ideas and experiences with you. 1) Sassy Bride on a Mission - Sassy is a Nashville DIY bride. Her wedding isnt until 2011 (so she's got plenty of time for her projects.) Here's her first, etched vases, as shared on her blog.

2) Enough for Ever After -is a blog by a May 2010, ABG bride. She is definitely a budget bride. Perhaps her planning experiences (like how she found her wedding shoes for $35) might be helpful for you too.
